On 17th of October, the “Transport and Insularity: Constraints and Perspectives Seminar” will take place at Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca, organized by the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR).
Mr Brian Simpson OBE, EU Coordinator for Motorways of the Sea, will attend the event as the keynote speaker of the session: “Islands, Motorways of the Sea (MOS) and EU maritime transport policy: state of play and perspectives”in which he will discuss the islands’ issue described inside the Motorway of the Sea Detailed Implementation Plan.
During the opening session, Ms Francina Armengol, President of the Balearic Islands Government, will welcome all participants. The event will be developed with the following sessions: Islands, Motorways of the Sea (MOS) and EU maritime transport policy: state of play and perspectives; Islands accessibility by air transport; and Compensation mechanisms for extra costs incurred by islands: Testimonies from Regions. At the end of the day, there will be a conclusion moment dedicated to the air and maritime transport by Marc Pons Councillor for Spatial Planning, Energy and Mobility, Balearic Islands Government.
The event will see the attendance of the main actors from Maritime, transport, tourism and EU Institution fields.
