SIL 2016 provides the futuristic backdrop to share a vision for slow-teaming, smart steaming and synchro-modality.
Barcelona, 8th June- SIL 2016 opened its doors in Barcelona for the 18th time and welcomed main representatives of the International Logistics and Material Handling field for three days of events, workshops and meetings.
International Logistics and Material Handling Exhibition is a 3 days event being held from 7th June to 9th June at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain, which last year counted with a 45 % of International Companies. SIL, indeed, is recognized as an exhibition where networking, business contacts and knowledge are more present than ever before through the broad business offer presented by the participating companies, the wide program of the greatest international congress, which count with the participation of outstanding logistics leaders and the different business meetings, fostered by the creation of the “ Circulo Logistico”.
This year the fair brought together more than 100 exhibitors representing the major companies in transport and logistics systems, intralogistics, warehousing, telematics and IT solutions fields.
In the context of such a unique event, the Synchro-net Project was presented during the “Consumer & Goods” session ( 10.30-11.30).
Further to that, the SYNCHRO-NET Advisory Board, made up by partners’ representatives and the ECTF (Enhanced Cooperation Task Force), organized three dedicated Stakeholder Roundtables from 12.30 to 15.00 in the PRENSA room:
• “Effective management of Synchro-modal logistics”. Chairman: Santiago Blasco (Head of VAS & Innovation at DHl Supply Chain). • “Smart steaming- how to build a win-win solution for all stakeholders”. Chairman: Jeromme Vedrenne (Engineer R&D CRAIN). Speakers: Fernando Liesa ( Logistics Innovation Leader ENIDE and Secretary General ALICE), Javier Cubas (Branch Manager CHINA SHIPPING (Spain) AGENCY), Ignasi Sayol (Presidente de Findacion ICIL), Declan Sinnott ( Business Development Manager KUEHNE NAGEL), Salvador Furio (Director of Logistic & Intermodality FUNDACION VALENCIA PORT)

Reduced speed, one of the main scopes of the investigations of Synchro-net, results in dramatic reductions in ship emissions-CO2, air pollution and particulates.
